LONG BEACH – CRUISE TERMINAL SHORE POWER SYSTEM
This Cochran Marine Shore Power System came online in December 2011. The dual voltage system represents the next generation of Cochran Marine Shore Power Systems, with upgraded independent cable monitoring ability in anticipation of new IEC regulations that are expected to take effect in the coming years. The new monitoring enables the individual assessment of each cable to ensure integrity of the system and proper functioning and delivery of electricity to the ship. Additionally, this system is equipped with a Cable Positioning Device (CPD) with an extend boom option, allowing for greater flexibility to support differing Cruise Ship configurations. Cochran Marine acted as the General Contractor on this project, providing design and preconstruction support, equipment procurement, contractor management, and commissioning support once the system was installed.
