The next Cochran Marine Shore Power System scheduled to come online in April 2015 is the Red Hook Cruise Terminal System in Brooklyn, NY. This dual voltage system will serve both Princess Cruise Lines and Cunard Line. It is equipped much like the Long Beach Cruise Terminal, with the standard Cochran Marine Shore Power System upgraded to include an extended boom on the Cable Positioning Device (CPD) and Independent Cable Monitoring capability compliant with IEC regulations.

Cochran Marine will complete the design and installation of a Shore Power System for the Halifax Port Authority in September 2014. The system will serve incoming Cruise Ships at Piers 20, 21, and 22. This Shore Power System is equipped with the same automation and cable positioning devices used at other Cochran Marine installations. Cochran Marine is providing design and preconstruction support, procurement and commissioning services.

This Cochran Marine Shore Power System came online in December 2011. The dual voltage system represents the next generation of Cochran Marine Shore Power Systems, with upgraded independent cable monitoring ability in anticipation of new IEC regulations that are expected to take effect in the coming years.

The Cochran Marine Shore Power System installed at the Port of San Diego B Street Cruise Ship Terminal was unveiled in December 2010. This dual voltage system was the second installation of the Cochran Marine Shore Power System in California and was installed in response to California’s aggressive clean air requirements for ports.

The San Francisco Shore Power installation was the first installation in the state of California and came online in October 2010. This dual voltage system (providing both 11kV and 6.6kV power) is equipped with two fixed Cable Positioning Devices (CPD) that can accommodate separate cruise ship berthing locations.

Cochran Marine completed the relocation of both the Princess Cruise Lines and Holland America Lines Shore Power Systems from Seattle Terminal 30 to Terminal 91 in 2009. As part of the relocation project, Cochran Marine also designed and developed a Cable Positioning Device (CPD) that is able to automatically adjust to the tide as well as an automation system that allows the Shore Power System to automatically gather connection data and be configured for any vessel in the system’s database with the touch of a button.

Cochran Marine completed the design and installation of two Shore Power Systems for the Vancouver Port Authority in 2009. Each system is located in a different area to service their incoming Cruise Ships. Cochran Marine helped the Port and Cruise Lines coordinate with the Utility providers to ensure that sufficient power was delivered to the terminals and that rate and fee structures for power were established before the installation began.
