Cochran Inc. is the leading provider of Shore Power systems commonly known as Cold
Ironing to the cruise and sea transportation industry. Our development
of Cold Ironing/Shore Power technology through custom designed and built equipment
allows the ships engines to be powered down in port while shore
electricity is used to run onboard services. Cochran has developed this
integrated solution for The Cruise Line industry.
The Cochran designed transformer substation allows visiting cruise ships to easily hook-up to
shore power which runs all onboard services while the ships are in port.
The objective of the program is to provide an affordable power solution that serves to reduce, by over 30 percent, the diesel emissions emitted into the air from visiting cruise ships.
